WE HAVE a good base on which to work from here. Everyone is working hard to take things forward and there are lots of little elements going on in the background to help build a strong club.

We are taking things step-by-step and making sure that we move in the right direction. It's a matter of being focussed. Yes, we could have had a few more points on the board by now, but a lot of clubs will be feeling exactly the same.

The chances will come for us and as long as we continue to give 100% in each game, we will be okay. We just need the rub of the green up front, but I have every confidence that our strikers will come good and score goals.

We are certainly proving hard to beat and our point at Norwich last weekend could be very important come the end of the season.

We've played some very good teams so far and it's been a tough start, but we have to approach every game in the right manner, which we will be doing on Saturday as we head to Tranmere.

We have done our homework on them and are well aware of how they can play. They just missed out on the play-offs last season, so are a decent side. John Barnes has come in and is trying to get the team to play a certain way, but it takes time.

I'm sure that if Michael Ricketts is involved, he will have a point to prove, but we have to focus on what we do and make sure that we are at it from the word go.

The support that we received at Norwich last weekend was fantastic and more of the same will be required at Prenton Park.
