ON TUESDAY evening we made progress in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy courtesy of a 2-1 win at Cheltenham Town.

Our hosts caught us cold with an early goal, but it proved to be the kick up the backside that we needed as we went on to dominate the game and deservedly go through.

I was pleased with our response to falling behind and we kept plugging away to eventually get our reward with two well-worked goals. On the whole I felt that we were comfortable and played some decent football.

The spirit in the camp is excellent and we go into Saturday's game in a positive frame of mind. We are under no illusions that it is going to be a tough assignment for us against a side who have made a smooth transition into League One following their promotion last term.

Darren Ferguson is an up-and-coming young manager who has some exciting attacking options at his disposal. His side likes to play good football, so it has all the ingredients to be an entertaining encounter, which we face with real relish.

The backing that we received at Edgar Street last Saturday and Whaddon Road on Tuesday was excellent and appreciated greatly by the players and myself. We are hoping for another good turn-out on Saturday, with everyone in good voice as we seek a positive result.
