LOOKING back at Saturday's goalless draw at Hereford United, I think that a draw was probably a fair result in the end.

Both teams cancelled each other out and after battling against the elements during the first half, when we created some decent openings, I was a little disappointed with our second half showing as we failed to play with the same penetration and didn't have enough chances on goal for my liking.

It's difficult to be too harsh on the lads, though, as we have started well this season. I try to take the positives out of every game and I was pleased that we were able to keep a clean sheet and add another point to our total.

The spirit in the camp is excellent and we go into the game at Cheltenham Town in a positive frame of mind as we turn our attention to Johnstone's Paint Trophy matters.

With a Wembley final the reward, we will be taking the competition very seriously indeed and I would expect nothing less from Martin Allen at Cheltenham. He has come in and changed things around at Whaddon Road in recent weeks. His side will prove to be tough opposition, but it is a challenge that we face with real relish.

The backing that we received at Edgar Street on Saturday was excellent and I will be hoping for more of the same this evening. A big thank you to those who will be making the journey to support the team.
