I THOUGHT that we were disappointing during the first half at Yeovil on Saturday. We failed to get a hold of the game and conceded a sloppy early goal.

We managed to sort out one or two things tactically during the half-time interval and, to be fair, we did enough after the break to have won the game.

In difficult conditions we dictated the game for long periods and if we continue to do that we will win more games than we lose.

It was nice to see Jabo Ibehre get his name on the scoresheet. He is a real team player whose pace and strength is going to serve us well.

There is strong competition for places in all areas of the team and that can only be a healthy thing. It leaves me with a nice selection headache, but we know that we are going to be judged on our performances and results,.

We play host to a Darlington side who made it into the League Two play-offs last term. They have further strengthened their squad over the summer and in Dave Penney have a bright and experienced manager who will have his team well-organised and difficult to break down.

They will be equally as keen as ourselves to make cup progress.

I thank you for your support and express the hope that you will give the team the backing that they deserve throughout the season ahead. If we are to be successful, we will need to work together and all pull in the same direction.
