YEOVIL TOWN TEAM TALK
I THOUGHT that we put in an extremely brave performance at Carlisle last weekend. In the end the best team lost, but if you are going to lose an unbeaten run, you want to do it by playing like that.
The response from the players to the events in the build-up to the game was there for all to see. We were on top for much of the game, particularly in the second half when we were bright and created a number of chances, but football can be cruel at times and we made the long journey home with no points to show for our efforts.
The key now is how we respond to the set-back. We've been on a fantastic run and I have every faith in this group that they can bounce back in the right way and embark upon another positive run of results, starting against Yeovil Town.
We know that Yeovil will come here well-organised and difficult to break down. They made it to the play-off Final last season and having faced them in difficult conditions only last month, we know what to expect and will be ready for it.
I was delighted to complete the signing of Kevin Betsy on loan until the end of the season. I thought that he made a promising first appearance at Carlisle last week and will add another dimension to our game.
We are always on the look-out to strengthen our squad for the run-in ahead and I have made no secret of the fact that I am looking to add to my attacking options. There are some tough challenges on the horizon and we will face them with the self-belief and determination that has been the hallmark of our unbeaten run.
I would like to offer a word of thanks to those supporters who made the long trek up to Brunton Park. You gave the team superb backing throughout the game and we look forward to more of the same on Saturday and for the remainder of the season.
