I THOUGHT that we put in a battling display as we overcame the challenge of Gillingham on Saturday. The lads showed plenty of character to come out of the game with the right result.

With a lot of the top teams playing each other right now, it was all about getting the three points. Whilst it is fair to say that it wasn't our most fluid performance, in what were tricky conditions, we showed flashes of quality and created a number of decent chances.

I was pleased with our discipline against what were well-organised and hard-working opponents and it was nice to see Tommy Mooney back in action and on the scoresheet.

We now look forward to tonight's encounter against a Leyton Orient side that have been in the top six all season. They have plenty of ability and experience within their ranks.

With 18 League games to go this season, anything can still happen. All we can do is keep ourselves focussed and continue to look to move in the right direction.

The players have done superbly well, but there is a lot of hard work to come. They will need your support now more than ever, so make sure that you give them the backing that they deserve.

It's been a busy schedule of matches and they continue to come thick-and-fast. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Carlisle on Saturday.
