OLDHAM ATHLETIC TEAM TALK
THE GAMES are certainly coming thick-and-fast right now as we face yet another tough examination of our credentials at Oldham Athletic.
Oldham are a good side with some experienced and talented players. They have started to find their feet following an indifferent beginning to the campaign, which surprised many people.
They came here earlier in the season and ran out 3-0 winners, but since that day our fortunes have improved greatly and the players have worked hard to get us to where we are in the table.
Looking back at our Boxing Day game at Port Vale, we displayed plenty of character and resilience to bring home a point. We were by no means at our best, but stuck gamely to the task at hand and continued to work hard to get something out of the game despite being reduced to ten men for the final 20 minutes.
The players were brave and that bravery meant we were able to create opportunities and cope well with everything that our hosts threw at us.
We took a large and vocal following with us to Vale Park and I would like to think that you will be able to give us the backing that we need in this our final game of 2007.
We have made tremendous progress both on and off-the-field during the past 12 months and there is no reason why this can't continue in the year ahead.
There is plenty for us to look forward to and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all Walsall supporters and their families a very happy and prosperous New Year. Thank you for your support.
