THE STRENGTH, experience and fitness of the squad is going to be very important as we go into this busy Easter weekend.
Mentally and physically we have come through a real test of character in recent weeks. There's a never-say-die attitude and resillience amongst the group that I believe will serve us well.
The players have the bit between their teeth right now and we face the challenges that lie ahead with real relish and determination.
We haven't achieved anything yet, of course, but as each game goes by we get closer and closer to reaching our goal.
At this stage of the season it is all about seeing the job through and picking up the three points. I have told the players not to look behind them but to keep chasing the team at the top because they are by no means out of reach.
We are fighting as hard as we can to get promotion and our last game on home soil saw us display outstanding mental strength to overcome Accrington Stanley.
We stuck at it and in the end made sure that we got the right result. Accrington are fighting for their Football League lives and made it tough for us, but we came through the test and that augurs well for the final run-in.
Easter is a very pivotal period of the season and we will be going all out to secure the precious points on offer against both Torquay United and Hereford United.
The fact that Torquay have recently beaten Wycombe Wanderers and Stockport County at home tells you exactly how tough it is going to be. They have become a well-organised side who are battling for points in a bid to save their Football League status, so we are going to have to be prepared for a difficult game.
Meanwhile, Hereford United have worked hard since regaining their Football League status this season and are sure to provide us with yet more tricky opposition.
The key to success is how you do in the tight games. We are realistic enough to know that we are not going to play well in every game, but it's all about showing the character to see the job through and add to our points total.
The role of you, the supporters, cannot be underestimated. We are going to need you in good voice and right behind us to help us through these final games. It's going to be a team effort and I ask for one big final push to the finishing line.
