THE SADDLERS Learning Centre is situated within the West Bromwich Building Society Family Stand here at the Banks's Stadium.

Staff changes led to a completely new team arriving in January 2005 - Sue Lane, Team Manager and Andrea Jarvis, Study Support Co-ordinator.

The Centre is part of a government initiative called 'Playing for Success' which has established Study Support Centres at most football clubs and other major sporting venues. It provides learning opportunities outside school hours for pupils between the ages of nine and 14.

This centre is a partnership between Walsall FC, DfES and Walsall MBC.

The pupils attend a number of sessions over several weeks. The purpose is to motivate, build self-esteem and to help raise achievement in literacy, numeracy, ICT, problem solving, improving own learning, working with others and to have FUN using football and the setting of the club as a medium for learning.

There are many exciting developments and new initiatives being planned for the centre in the future, including: an interactive web-site book, e-mentors from business and exciting daytime projects (for any age groups).
