THE SADDLERS completed the signing of left-sided defender, Daniel Fox on a two-year deal in June 2005.

The 21 year-old graduated through the highly-regarded Academy ranks at Everton where his impressive progress was rewarded with a professional contract in May 2004.

Becoming a reserve team regular during 2004/2005, he was an unused substitute in The Toffees' Premiership clash with Aston Villa before being allowed to spend the final few months of the campaign on loan at Scottish second division outfit, Stranraer, where he got some much-needed competitive first-team experience under his belt and helped the club secure runners-up spot during the course of 11 appearances.

Catching the eye of The Saddlers' coaching staff with some hard-working and energetic second-string displays for the Merseyside outfit, the youngster was keen to join The Saddlers and link up once more with former team-mate Anthony Gerrard following his release from Goodison Park.

Making an impressive start to his Football League career with some fine displays during the course of the 2005/06 campaign where he established a regular place in the side, his game is developing all of the time and he played an important role in our League Two Championship success last term.
