Fox Praise
SADDLERS' boss, Paul Merson has heaped praise on Daniel Fox. The teenager recently agreed a one-year extension to his contract after some solid and impressive displays in both a left-back and midfield berth. "We need players who can play in more than one position and Daniel is a good example of that," enthused Merson. "He has a real will-to-win and has done fantastically well for me so far this season, particularly when you consider that this is his first taste of League action.
"He has the same full-blooded attitude in training as he does in matches and you can tell that he has been brought up the right way at Everton, which has given him a good grounding in the game.
"That tackle on Martin Butler in the last game typifies what he is all about and the supporters appreciate that kind of commitment.
"It wouldn't surprise me if we start to get some serious interest in him."
Meanwhile Merson himself has penciled in Wednesday's Staffordshire Senior Cup clash at Chasetown as the game in which he hopes to return to action. The manager has been sidelined since the end of September with a groin injury, but has been back in full training during the past couple of weeks. "I have had no adverse reaction after being involved in full training this week," he said. "I don't want to rush myself back too soon, but I would like to think that I will be able to get 45 minutes or so under my belt on Wednesday at Chasetown."
Don't forget that if you can't make it along to Saturday's FA Cup game, Saddlers World will have live, full match commentary, in association with BBC WM.
