EMERGING Premier League youngster, Florent Cuvelier is looking forward to continuing his football journey here at Banks's Stadium having joined The Saddlers on a month's loan from Stoke City.

The 19 year-old starred for Belgium in last summer's Under-19 European Championships and is expected to have a bright future ahead of him in the game, with the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur monitoring his progress.

"I would describe myself as an attacking midfielder," he said. "I'm a box-to-box player who likes to get on the ball and get forward at every opportunity. If a shooting opportunity opens up in front of me, I'm not afraid to have a go.

"I've played for my country since under-16s and last summer I went to the European Under-19 Championships and was voted into the team of the tournament, which was a great achievement and made me extremely proud.

"I signed professionally for Portsmouth at the age of 17 and then moved on to Stoke 18 months ago.

"For me it's an amazing opportunity here; I'm really looking forward to playing games and showing people what I am capable of.

"There are some good players here and it will be good for me to test my ability at what I expect to be a high level.

"I really want to do well for myself and to help the team. This is a nice place for me to come and develop as a player and I am happy that this deal has been done." 

Cuvelier will wear squad number 25 and will be part of the squad that takes on Notts County here at Banks's Stadium on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
