FRENCH wide-man, Claude Gnakpa has today been allowed to leave The Saddlers.

The 28 year-old arrived at Banks's Stadium during the summer from Luton Town and has appeared a total of 26 times in all competitions this term, with the highlight being his stoppage time equaliser against Sheffield Wednesday on Boxing Day as we went on to win the game in dramatic fashion.

"We've come to a mutual agreement with Claude," said manager, Dean Smith. "He was frustrated at not getting as many starts as he would have liked here.

"Sometimes things don't work out in football and it is best to move on elsewhere.

"He leaves with our best wishes for the future.

"His departure does free up funds which will allow us to strengthen the squad in other areas."
