THE SADDLERS have today completed the loan signing of Reuben Reid from West Bromwich Albion.

Able to play as a winger or striker, Reid began his career at Plymouth Argyle before making a permanent switch to Rotherham United in 2008.

The 22 year-old enjoyed a prolific campaign with The Millers, bagging 19 goals during 2008/09 before moving to The Hawthorns for an undisclosed fee in July 2009.

Last season, Reid made seven appearances for the Baggies and also enjoyed a three-month loan spell with Peterborough United.

"We are delighted to have Reuben on board," added Hutchings. "He had an excellent spell at Rotherham the season before last, which prompted his move to Albion where he has continued his football education.

"He's a young, hungry player with a proven track record. He can play out wide or through the middle.

"We're grateful to Roberto Di Matteo and West Bromwich Albion for agreeing to this loan deal and we're looking forward to working with Reuben during the coming months."

Reid will be on loan at the club until January 2011 and stands by to make his Saddlers' debut against former club, Plymouth Argyle on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).
