THE EMERGING Will Grigg is hoping to start making an impact on the first-team this season.

The youth team product was introduced into the action on Tuesday evening where he got 25 minutes under his belt and now he is determined to add to that. "I was pleased to get on on Tuesday evening," he said. "The gaffer gave me enough time to make an impact and I thought that I did alright.

"I would have liked more of the ball and to have been able to get further up the field, but I won a few headers and tried to make things happen.

"Having the likes of Darren Byfield and Steve Jones around is a big help; I can learn a lot from them and they are always on hand with good advice in training."

The Saddlers are on the road for the first time this season on Saturday with a trip to Brentford as we look to get our first points on the board. "We all know that last Saturday's performance was poor," added Grigg. "We improved on Tuesday and were the better side; we just needed to be more clinical in the final third.

"I have every faith that we will be able to bounce back in the right way at Brentford on Saturday, get a result and go forward from there."
