SADDLERS' boss, Chris Hutchings has reflected upon our opening day loss at the hands of MK Dons.

"We know that we didn't perform as well as we can," he said. "It was disappointing; we didn't pass or retain the ball well enough and conceded two poor goals.

"We got the right reaction at the start of the second half with the equaliser and came into the game with a bit of possession, but on the whole, the team performance was not good enough. We know that we have to do better and that is what we will be working on for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie.

"The wide men are our cutting edge, but they just didn't get involved in the first half. We gave the ball away too cheaply and if you do that in any game you will struggle."
