SADDLERS' wide-man, Julian Gray is looking forward to getting a full season under his belt here at Banks's Stadium having had a fruitful spell with the club towards the end of last season.

"I've been working very hard pre-season and now all that effort goes into the start of the new season," he said. "It's been good to get a decent pre-season under my belt and now Saturday can't come quickly enough for me.

"I just want to play football. We had a decent run towards the end of last season and hopefully we can take that into the new campaign and start by beating MK Dons again.

"As a team we have looked better as the pre-season has gone on; we've had some tough games, but we've come through them well and it's been a good experience for us all. To play against players from higher levels gives you the hunger and drive to progress.

"Everything is set for the start of the season. The pitch looks great and it will help us play the type of football that the gaffer wants. If we can get a few early results then it will help breed confidence and we can build from there."
