SADDLERS' assistant manager, Martin O'Connor is starting to feel the butterflies as the start of the new season looms large.

"There is absolutely nothing like the start of a new season," he said without hesitation. "Everyone is excited and the butterflies are going.

"The lads came in for a week during May and have been working extremely hard since the start of July. To come through with no injuries and positives from each of our game, is a real boost for us.

"We've tried different formations, and that has given us food for thought, so we go into the new season in good heart.

"We watched MK Dons during the week and know what they are all about. If we play like I know we can, we will be alright.

"We want to do better and be stronger than last year and it all starts on Saturday. We are instilling a work ethic and a will-to-win into the players and so far they have responded well.

"We have a young squad here and we want to drive them to perform at the next level."
