MARK Dabbs today stepped into the spotlight when he took over as manager of Walsall FC - well for a minute or so at least!

The charity auction that we ran here on www.saddlers.co.uk last month enabled the lucky winner to take the seat of the manager during the club's official team photograph for the forthcoming season.

"It was a nervy few moments whilst I watched the clock countdown on the auction," said Dabbs. "But I was delighted to finally win and come down to sit in the manager's seat!"

The Saddlers were delighted to donate all the proceeds from the auction to our shirt sponsor, Walsall Hospice.
