NEW signing, Ryan McGivern is looking forward to getting his Saddlers' career underway after arriving on a season-long loan from Premier League, Manchester City.

"I'm very pleased to be here," said the Northern Ireland International left-back. "I just want to get regular games under my belt and I can't wait to get started.

"My favoured position is left-back, but I can also play in the centre of defence. I like to get up and down the pitch as much as possible and provide chances for our strikers as well as keeping the opposition out.

"It's all about playing as many games as possible and helping the club push for promotion. The facilities and structure is already in place here and hopefully success on the pitch will follow.

"I've heard some good things about the club from the likes of Marshy [Paul Marshall] and Clayton McDonald, so it didn't take me long to decide to come here.

"There are a lot of quality teams in League; it's going to be fast and physical, but that challenge excites me."

The 20 year-old spent most of last season on loan at Leicester City as well as winning four caps for Northern Ireland. He will be involved on Saturday as The Saddlers travel to Port Vale (kick-off 3.00pm).
