THE SADDLERS have completed the season-long loan capture of Manchester City's Northern Ireland International, Ryan McGivern.

The 20 year-old left-back, who can also play in the heart of the back-line, has come through the ranks at City and helped the club lift the FA Youth Cup in 2008.

He was loaned out to Morecambe during the 2008/09 campaign in a bid to gain first-team experience and spent last term on loan at Championship outfit Leicester City where he appeared 14 times for the promotion-chasing Foxes after having his loan spell extended.

It was also during the course of last season that he won four of his five full caps for Northern Ireland "We are delighted to have Ryan on board," said manager, Chris Hutchings. "He is another young lad who we have been monitoring for some time and will be a welcome addition to our squad.

"We know what he is capable of and he comes here keen to gain experience.

"He certainly has pedigree behind him and we are grateful for Manchester City allowing him to come here and continue his footballing education."

The new man will be involved for the first time at Port Vale on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).
