THE SADDLERS' youth team have beaten Millwall 2-1 at Lilleshall.

"We started the game brightly and put in an excellent first half performance," said Head of Youth, Dean Smith. "We created numerous chances, but only went in at the break with one goal to show for our efforts as a corner deflected into the net off a Millwall defender.

"Our build-up play was good in the opening period and whilst it wasn't quite up to the same high standard after the break, we were able to double our advantage when a cross-cum-shot from Jack Dobson found its way into the net.

"Millwall were able to grab a consolation goal just before the end, but our attitude, work-rate, technical and tactical ability was excellent and we were worthy winners."
