SADDLERS' front-man, Darren Byfield comes up against one of his former clubs this evening as Premier League neighbours, Aston Villa come to Banks's Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Byfield is revelling in the fact that he has been able to enjoy his first full pre-season for some time. "It's been a while since I've had a proper pre-season," he admitted . "I haven't had one for four years and I'm feeling the benefits; I feel good, sharp and up for it.

"At Millwall I fell out with the manager and then went to Bristol City who had finished. At Doncaster I had a hernia problem and last season I didn't have a club.

"I was probably one of the only lads looking forward to pre-season and the boss knows exactly what he's doing.

 "Long gone are the days where you run around and do cross country. It's all down to strengthening and I'm feeling good."

To celebrate our 20 years at Bescot (Banks's) Stadium we will have members of the 1990 team that took on Villa in our first-ever game at the game as guests of the club. Ron Green, Kenny Mower, Peter Skipper, Dean Smith, John Kelly and Martin Goldsmith will all be introduced onto the field as part of the half-time entertainment.
