THE SADDLERS are back in Banks's Stadium action on Saturday as we take on Champiosnhip outfit, Coventry City (kick-off 3.00pm).

Goalkeeper, Jonny Brain is looking forward to the game against Aidy Boothroyd's side. "It'll be tough, but in my mind that's a positive thing," he said. "We want to be testing ourselves against teams from higher Leagues as that's what pre-season is all about.

"We're learning about each other all of the time; it'll be a steady improvement so that we are ready for when the season starts.

"Yes, there are things for us to work on, but we'll get there and that is exactly what these pre-season matches are for.

"We got punished against Wolves, but it was an enjoyable test against a team full of quality players."

Brain was a popular figure at former club, Macclesfield Town, and turned down an offer from a Championship club to come to Banks's Stadium. "Walsall is the ideal place for me to kick on and improve myself," he added. "I've just turned 27 and have a couple of hundred matches under my belt, so I have a lot to offer.

"Everything was right for me to come here, the facilities are excellent, the management team has operated at the top level and it is only 30 minutes from home for me.

"I get on well with David Bevan and there is a nice rivalry building up between us."
