HERE we are again... The season starts here...
I'm amazed that, already, we have played a pre-season friendly in preparation for the new season. Last season doesn't seem long finished but I can honestly say that I am looking forward to the new one.
It's always exciting to see the new faces on the playing staff and see how well we can do. Personally I'd like to see a good Cup run in one of the competitions as we seem overdue some Cup success.
This week is the last in schools and we have signed up our 'School Partners' for next season. It has been a successful School Year and, with new full-time staff on board, we can look forward to another prosperous school year from September.
With the school year ending we are approaching the Summer Soccer Schools. We encourage everyone to have a look at the Community Website and book onto one of our courses. Places are still available at Banks's Stadium - visit www.walsallfccp.co.uk for more details.
We would love to see as many kids as possible enjoying their football with us. We have a dedicated team of coaches and fantastic facilities here at Banks's Stadium.
Two of our Modern Apprentices leave us this week to follow their studies at Walsall College. Both Matt and Dan are looking at applying for places on a BTEC Sports course and everyone wishes them all the best for the future.
Tomorrow I will be signing up our newest five Apprentices and look forward to introducing them into our successful and ever-growing programme of activities.
My 'Fun 4 Life' Weight Management session, for local families and children, finishes tonight. The children on the course have worked really hard over the last term and we will be rewarding them with tickets to the Walsall v Coventry game on Saturday.
Look out for them before the game when we present them with their certificates and meet a player before kick-off. They are all excited about coming to the game and for some it will be their first-ever live match.
Fingers crossed for an exciting game and a pre-season victory...
Adam
