THE FIXTURE list for The Saddlers' Football League Youth Alliance campaign has been announced.

Dean Smith's side open with a trip to Stockport County on Saturday, August 14th before taking on Wrexham in our first home game seven days later.

It promises to be challenging campaign for our youngsters as we face the likes of Wigan Athletic, Blackpool, Preston North End and Burnley. "It's good that the fixtures are out," said Head of Youth, Dean Smith. "Obviously the lads just want to get out there and play and can't wait for the games to start.

"I am keen to stress to them that development is the most important part; getting together the whole package so that we have players who are ready to step up, whether that be to reserve or first-team level.

"We have worked hard already this summer and that will continue as we head to a training camp up in Scotland next week, so by the time that August 14th comes around we will be ready to hit the ground running."
