GILMARTIN JOINS WATFORD

WALSALL Football Club can confirm that goalkeeper, Rene Gilmartin, has joined Watford for an undisclosed fee.

The 23 year-old's contract expired yesterday, making him a free agent. However, as Gilmartin came up through the ranks at the Banks's Stadium and is under 24 years of age, The Saddlers are entitled to compensation and a package has been mutually agreed between the two clubs.

Gilmartin was offered an improved contract to remain at WS1 but chose to link-up with the Vicarage Road outfit.
