STEVE Jones' tenth goal of the season deservedly put The Saddlers in front at Swindon on Saturday and despite the home side hitting back to take a point, there were plenty of positives to come out of our trip to the County Ground.

"It was a good performance," said Jones. "The conditions took their toll, but we battled through and got a deserved point in the end.

"All of the lads dug in and we could have easily nicked it. I thought that we played really well in the first half; we created chances, had shots and got crosses into the box and went in at half-time confident.

"With a little bit more composure in the second half, we would have taken all three points, but it was another impressive display against a side who are in the promotion race.

"It was nice to get on the scoresheet again and hopefully it will give me a platform to build on for the final three games. Alex Nicholls did well to set me up for the goal. He was full of running and unsettled the home defence."
