RICHARD Taundry has praised The Saddlers' fighting spirit after they battled back to draw 1-1 against Stockport at the weekend, despite playing for over 70 minutes with ten men.

Troy Deeney was sent off after just 18 minutes at Edgeley Park for a deliberate handball. That led to former Saddlers striker, Jabo Ibehre dispatching a penalty to give County the lead.

It's the fourth time in six games that we've been reduced to ten men but Taundry, who suffered a mild concussion during the game, says coming back to claim a point shows the spirit in the side: "It's always difficult when you go down to ten men," he said. "But then you find out that the team is strong enough to pull together, so I thought we did well to get back into the game.

"We showed a lot of heart, grit and determination and produced another point. Whenever you get a man sent off it makes it all the worse, so I think we showed a lot of fight and all stuck together and got the job done."

Despite receiving a knock to the head, the hard-working midfielder is hopeful of being fit for today's game against a Wycombe Wanderers side who are desperate for the points to aid their battle against the drop.
