HUTCHINGS LOOKS BACK AT STOCKPORT AND AHEAD TO WYCOMBE

Posted on: Mon 05 Apr 2010

SADDLERS' boss, Chris Hutchings has given his reaction to our 1-1 draw at Stockport County, including the sending off of Troy Deeney, after just 18 minutes.

"We had to defend heroically in the second half and Rene Gilmartin's pulled off some very good saves," he said. "The boys have worked their socks off to get a result and Jules (Julian Gray) has popped up with a great finish early in the second half."

The players were back in training yesterday, focusing on today's visit of Wycombe Wanderers, but Hutchings admits their fitness levels are being tested after going down to ten men for the fourth time in six games: "It was difficult," he added. "It takes its tolls and we had to put that extra yard in going down to ten men, so I suppose it will take its toll today, when the game comes.

"We've got to deal with it; we'll get round it. We were in training yesterday; we had a recovery session and we'll see who's fit, we've got one or two little knocks. Dwayne Mattis has got cramp and Netan Sansara got a knock late on, so there'll be a few tired legs, but we've got to make sure we pick ourselves up and be ready for the visit of a Wycombe side who need the points to pull themselves away from danger at the bottom of the table."
