SADDLERS' boss, Chris Hutchings was a happy man after seeing his side battle out a 1-0 victory over play-off chasing, Colchester United despite playing for the whole of the second half with only ten men.

"The sending off was obviously a major decision," he said. "But we worked extremely hard as a team and a unit. I said at half-time that we needed to come out for the second half and play with our heads rather than our hearts, and that is what we did.

"We knew that we would have to defend resolutely and that Rene would have to make some saves, but I thought that we counter-attacked quite well and took our chance.

"Today we have beaten a team in the play-off zone; the lads have put a real shift in and I am delighted for them. Everyone played their part and both the players and supporters deserved that.

"A lot of hard work went into the it anfd I am pleased for all involved. The test now is can we do it again on Tuesday when we face a team below us in the table?"
