OLD PALS ACT AT ORIENT

Posted on: Fri 12 Mar 2010

LEYTON Orient keeper, Jamie Jones, is relishing potentially coming up against Saddlers defender, Mark Hughes, who grew up in the same part of Liverpool as the O's stopper.

As Hughes revealed in his Captain's Blog yesterday, the pair are good friends and, as with the skipper, Jones is looking forward to tomorrow's reunion.

"I remember when we played there earlier in the season we went 2-0 up in the first half and really should have won so I'm hoping to be able to help the team get those three points on Saturday," he said. "Mark Hughes is a friend of mine from back home, so I'm looking forward to coming up against him.

"I speak to him and his brother a lot - I grew up with Mark at Everton - and it's always nice to play against people you know.

"He's a good player and Walsall have had a good season but we're in good form at home and we believe we can take the three points on Saturday."
