WILL Grigg's International education continued last week when he was part of the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad that travelled to take on San Marino in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying fixture.

It was the first-year professional's first taste of life with the Under-21s after impressing for the Under-19s. "To step up to the Under-21 squad has given me a real confidence boost," he said. "Being around better players, different coaches and the whole experience of travelling away can only be good for my development.

"I didn't get on this time, but the whole experience was useful for me and I hope that my chance will come along soon."

Back at Banks's Stadium, Grigg finds himself on the fringes of the first-team, having been an unused substitute on a number of occasions. "There are some good players ahead of me at the moment," he added. "I just have to make sure that I am ready to take my chance when it eventually comes along.

"I desperately want to make an impact and be able to get a few games under my belt between now and the end of the season."
