THE SADDLERS have joined the rest of the football community in expressing our deep sadness at the death of Macclesfield Town manager, Keith Alexander earlier this week.

"I was with Keith only last week," said manager, Chris Hutchings. "He was in good spirits following tests after a recent health scare.

"He was a football man and a great lad. I was extremely saddened to hear the news on Wednesday; his passing is a great loss to the game.

"I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to his wife and family at this most difficult of times."

Assistant manager, Martin O'Connor was also full of praise. "He was a top man, one of the nicest blokes in the game.

"He has achieved a lot and will be sadly missed. I remember sitting and chatting with him before taking charge of my first reserve team game here; football will be all the poorer now that he is no longer with us."
