WALSALL FC is joining forces with all 72 Football League clubs in a united week of action to raise awareness and vital funds for Help for Heroes - The Football League's Official Charity Partner for the 2009/10 season.

Saturday's home game against Millwall has been designated as our Help For Heroes match. "There will be a big army presence here on the day," said Chief Executive, Roy Whalley. "The Army will have information stands and equipment outside the Main Entrance, a military band will be playing before the game and at half-time, Army personnel will form a Guard of Honour for the two teams as they enter the field and local members of the armed forces who have been injured or benefitted from the work done by Help for Heroes will receive VIP treatment at the game.

"The 50/50 Matchday Draw will raise funds for Help For Heroes and they will also conduct a bucket shake on the day.

"This is a great opportunity for the people of Walsall to come out in force in order to show their gratitude for the work being undertaken by British forces in Afghanistan and other parts of the World and an understanding of the sacrifices being made in defending Britain's interests around the World."
