ALEX Nicholls has revealed that, as long as he is in the starting XI, he doesn't mind what role he has to fulfill in order to help The Saddlers' cause.
The pacy frontman scored one and made from his right-wing berth on Saturday and, although he would prefer a more central role, is happy to do a job for the team.
"It's no secret that I see myself more as a striker," he said. "But I'd rather be playing on the right that sitting alongside Martin O'Connor and the gaffer on the bench.
"It's all about the team and if I play out wide and can score and create goals then 'happy days'.
"But if I had scored one goal and created one but we had lost 3-2 it would have meant nothing. I'm just trying to do the best I can and make an impact whenever and wherever I play."
The 22 year-old will be hoping to have a similar impact this evening as The Saddlers entertain Yeovil Town (kick-off 7.45pm). Saturday's 2-1 victory over Brentford means Chris Hutchings' side go into tonight's game with back-to-back victories under their belt after also beating Leeds seven days ago and Nicholls believes that the teams new found confidence will stand them in good stead.
"Leeds hadn't lost at home in over a year and every time I had played there before we had been battered," he added. "We weren't expected to get anything but played well and maybe that kick-started our season again. Maybe that result is just what we needed.
"How quickly it changes round. Not long ago people were saying we were no wins in six, now it's one defeat in seven. It turns round so quickly in football but we have won three of the last four and hopefully we can push on."
