GIANT central defender, Clayton McDonald picked the ideal time to score his first senior goal as he notched a late winner at Leeds United.

The youngster was once more in solid form at Elland Road as he played a key role in our success. "I loved every minute of it," he said. "To score my first professional goal was great, but the main thing was that we came home with all three points.

"Obviously it's a goal that I will remember for a long time, but on the night everyone dug in and grafted to get the result that we deserved.

"We all knew that we were poor at Oldham, but there is so much character in the dressing room and it showed on Tuesday. It was a real team effort with everyone making a contribution.

"The key now is to build on the result and find a level of consistency. We need to get on the ball and play because there are some talented players in this side."
