GRAY HOPING TO BRING SOMETHING EXTRA

Posted on: Mon 15 Feb 2010

NEW SIGNING, Julian Gray made his Saddlers' debut in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Oldham as he entered the action early in the second half.

"I've not played for a while, so it was good to come on and join in the action," said the 30 year-old who played in The Championship for Barnsley earlier in the campaign. "Obviously I was disappointed with the final result; we didn't keep good possession of the ball and it went from back to front too soon.

"It's a case of getting to know everyone at the moment. I joined in training on Thursday and Friday, but the fact that we have so many games coming up will help me settle in quickly and hopefully I can bring something extra to the team.

"I am looking forward to Tuesday's game at Leeds. It's a good opportunity for us to get back on track against strong opposition who are near the top of the table.

"It will be a good place for us to go and show what we can do.

"From a personal point of view, all I want to do is play football. I know my qualities and hopefully I can start to show people exactly what I am capable of and help the team move up the League One table."
