LIGHT is starting to appear at the end of what has been a frustrating tunnel for wide-man, Steve Jones.

The Northern Ireland International has been laid low since the start of December with a groin problem. It came at a time when he was in a rich vein of form and whilst he looked like edging nearer to a return to action at the turn of the year, a set-back in his rehabilitation left him frustrated.

He has been working extremely hard with physio, John Whitney is recent weeks and manager, Chris Hutchings is pleased with his latest progress. "Steve's strengthening work is going well," he said. "He has been able to join in the warm-up with the rest of the lads, so that's a positive step forward.

"We are hopeful of getting him back into full training in the next week or so and will take things from there. It's always been a case of looking at it on a day-by-day basis and that is how it will continue.

"To have him available for selection again would give us a tremendous boost."
