FRONT-man, Troy Deeney has revealed his frustration as the worst winter weather for 30 years has decimated the football fixture schedule.

"It's just a case of working and waiting," he said. "No matter what we do, we cannot beat the elements.

"We've spent a lot of time in the gym and on the Field Turf and because we can't do ball work, it's been a bit like pre-season with all the running that we've been doing.

"It's not the most enjoyable work, but it's no-ones fault and we just have to get our heads down and get on with it. We are paid to do a job and have to be ready to go when the games start up again.

"Obviously it's going to be frustrating when we are doing our work during the week and there is no game to show for it at the end. But, as I said, no-one is to blame and all we can do is keep ticking over because it's going to be a busy time once the weather improves.

"It will be exactly the same for a lot of other teams because games are being called off left, right and centre at the moment. Hopefully we will be lucky with injuries and be able to really push on.

"Despite not playing for the last few weeks, we still find ourselves positioned within the top ten and can really make a bid for the play-offs in the second half of the season."

The Saddlers play host to Norwich City on Tuesday, January 12th (kick-off 7.45pm).

Meanwhile, our away game at Bristol Rovers has been rearranged for Tuesday, February 9th, whilst we head for Leeds United on Tuesday, February 16th. Both games will have a 7.45pm kick-off.
