SADDLERS' boss, Chris Hutchings has expressed his delight at securing the services of front-man, Darren Byfield on a long-term deal.

"We knew he would be a firm favourite and he has done well so far," he said. "To have a quality striker on board for that length of time is a big plus for us.

"He's got plenty of experience and the young lads can only learn from him. He gets into the right positions and that is a good skill to have.

"He knows that he has to continue to score goals and it bodes well for the future as it gives him that little bit of extra stability.

"Darren is happy here and when you are settled off the pitch, you can do the business on it. This is a real boost for us."
