NETAN Sansara returned to the starting line-up at Colchester on Saturday, but it wasn't in the away he was expecting.

The 20 year-old was originally named on the substitutes' bench, but a calf injury suffered by Jamie Vincent in the pre-match warm-up saw him thrust into the team less than half-an-hour before kick-off. "I've waited so long for this opportunity, but the way it came about caught me by surprise," he admitted. "There were a few nerves, but things happened so fast and in the end I thought that I gave a good account of myself.

"Now it is up to me to build upon it and keep my place in the team.

"It was disappointing that as a team we played so well against one of the leading sides in this division yet came away with nothing to show for our efforts.

"The manager keeps telling us that we have to be more consistent and take our chances. We have to bounce back in the right way and start picking up the points that we deserve."
