HUTCHINGS LOOKS TO PUT THE BOOT IN

Posted on: Fri 23 Oct 2009

CHRIS Hutchings goes head-to-head with his former boot boy on Saturday as The Saddlers travel to in-form Colchester United.

The U's' boss, Aidy Boothroyd was a trainee at Huddersfield Town during Chris Hutchings' three-year spell as a player between 1987 and 1990. "I've know Aidy for a long time," said Hutchings. "He was a young player looking to breakthrough during my days at Huddersfield and one of his jobs was to clean my boots.

"He went on to have a good career in the game as a player and has done superbly well as a manager, working at the highest level.

"He has got Colchester playing to their strengths. They are a big, strong side who are on a good run of results and credit for that must go to Aidy.

"Like any game we will have to stand up and be counted and ensure that we take our chances."
