ONE OF the plus-points to come out of the last two games has been the form of youngster, Darryl Westlake.

The 18 year-old came up through the ranks to sign professional forms during the summer and after an impressive pre-season, was given the nod to replace the suspended Rhys Weston against Southend United.

His performance was such that he kept his place for Tuesday evening's visit of Leeds despite Weston being available again. "If I'm being totally honest, I thought that Rhys might get his place back for the Leeds game," admitted the Sutton Coldfield-born full-back. "It was a tremendous boost to be selected and it was a fantastic experience to play in front of such a large and vocal crowd.

"I felt I have done well in the games so far. The manager has been pleased with my performances, which is the main thing, so now I want to push on from here.

"The tempo has been a lot faster than I have been used to in the past, but I feel that I have coped with the added demands pretty well."
