SADDLERS' boss, Chris Hutchings is hoping that we can start as we mean to go on as we face our first home game of the sesaon on Saturday with the visit of Southend United (kick-off 3.00pm).

"Obviously it is important to pick up results at home and we want to start as we mean to go on against Southend," he said. "Our visitors come here looking to build on last year. They are a solid, well-organised side who will make life tough for us.

"With the players we have here this season, there are more people who can create and put teams on the back-foot. We have to be able to take our chances and establish a level of consistency."

Supporters will be pleased to hear that the Walsall FC Matchday Programme has been pegged back to a cover price of £2.50 this season. It will be packed full of new and exciting features and on sale at the usual outlets both inside and outside the ground.
