RICHARD Taundry put in a solid display in the right midfield berth as The Saddlers took on local rivals, Wolves in our latest pre-season friendly.

"All in all I was pleased with my performance," said the 20 year-old youth team product. "I felt fit and raring to go and thoroughly enjoyed it out there on the right.

"To be honest, I'm not sure exactly where my best position is; I'm just happy to be playing and feel comfortable wherever I am asked to play.

"We came together as a team as the match went on and were unlucky not to get a draw. That said, the squad is shaping up well and we've got some good young lads emerging, which all bodes well for the future.

"The manager still wants to bring some new faces in but that is fine by me as I thrive on a challenge.

"The pre-season is shaping up well and West Bromwich Albion will provide another good test for us on Saturday. The key is to maintain the standards that we have set ourselves and then start to build on it as the weeks go on.
