NETAN Sansara is hoping to be back in contention for this weekend's League One encounter with Huddersfield Town after missing the last five games with an ankle injury.

The young defender landed awkwardly during training last month but, after making steady progress, has returned to the fold this week and believes he has an outside chance of being in contention come Saturday.

"I'm 100% fit now," he said. "I'm back in full training and feeling good. Jon Whitney (physio) has been looking after me and he's given me the all clear to do everything that the rest of the lads are doing in training, which is what I'm doing.

"I think I'll be okay for the weekend if the manager wants me to be involved. I'll just see what happen over the next couple of days."

The injury couldn't have come at a worse time for the 20 year-old. Fellow left-back Paul Boertien had picked up an injury the week before and Sansara was hoping for an extended run in Chris Hutchings' starting XI.

That wasn't to be though but, rather than curse his luck, the former England Under-19 International is focussing solely on adding to his 11 first-team appearances before the season is out.

"It was fate really," he added. "'Boets' was injured on the Saturday and then I did my ankle on the Monday. The manager spoke to me before that training session and said there was a good chance I'd be in the team, then I went over on my ankle and have been missing ever since.

"That's football though. I can't change it. I'm a confident lad and I think if I wouldn't have had the injury I would have kept my place in the team but that's not how it worked out. I picked up an injury like all footballers do.

"Now though, I'm feeling fit and just want to get a couple more good training sessions under my belt. If I can do that, I'd like to try and feature in a game or two before the end of the season.

"I've had a set back, so I need to come back stronger and show the manager what I'm all about."
