HUTCHINGS DELIGHT

Posted on: Mon 23 Mar 2009

CHRIS Hutchings was a happy man following his side's victory over Leyton Orient on Saturday.

The Saddlers followed up Tuesday evening's 3-0 victory over Brighton with a 1-0 win over Orient at Brisbane Road, much to Hutchings' delight.

"I am delighted with the three points," he said. "The first 20 minutes we started slowly but as the game went on we got more into it although we did not test their keeper a lot.

"Clayton (Ince) has had to pull off a few saves and we had to get a few blocks in. That is what he is paid to do and defenders have got to do that. Like I say it was a team performance."

Mark Bradley bagged his second goal in as many games and Hutchings was pleased with the young midfielders contribution, who will now link up with Wales Under-21's ahead of their double-header with Luxembourg.

"It was probably the best bit of play of the afternoon and we scored a goal from it.

"It was an excellent little bit of link-up play, the timing of Bradley's run was excellent and his execution was excellent as well.

"He's got his recognition again with Wales, so I'm delighted about that, but he'll miss the next game.

"I'm delighted in a way but a little bit gutted in another way because he has done well in the last two games."
