O'CONNOR FULL OF PRAISE

Posted on: Wed 18 Mar 2009

ASSISTANT Manager, Martin O'Connor has reflected upon our deserved 3-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion. "We had to be better than Saturday," he said. "We played with a bit of spirit, passion and drive tonight.

"We wanted to go out and play in their half and use our ability and energy, which we did. We played some good football and scored three good goals.

"It's a case of getting better now and taking this into our next game at Leyton Orient..

"Saturday was a blip and it was important that we bounced back. We earned the right to play in the opening exchanges and that set us up nicely.

"It was all about character and we were the better team from start to finish tonight."

Anthony Gerrard could be out for up to a month after suffering a calf strain.
