IBEHRE STAYS POSITIVE
JABO Ibehre believes that, despite Tuesday's 3-2 defeat at Swindon, Chris Hutchings' new look Saddlers are 'going in the right direction'.
Ibehre, who celebrated his 26th birthday yesterday, bagged his first goal since October at the County Ground midweek and explained that there were positives to take from that defeat.
"It was disappointing to lose but I think things are going in the right direction," he said. "We showed a bit of resilience and quality at times and that can only be a good sign.
"First half it was back to front a lot of the time, which meant the midfield couldn't stamp any authority on the game. Second-half it got better and towards the end we got back into a little more.
"Once I scored, and then Troy scored, people start believing that we can get something from the game. It wasn't to be though but we can take a few positives from the game, like getting better as the game went on."
The Saddlers now face a glutton of fixtures, starting with home clashes against both Leeds and Leicester on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
It's a daunting prospect but Ibehre believes that the old cliché of 'one game at a time' is the only way to approach the next fortnight, which will see The Saddlers in action four times.
"It is a tough schedule but we just have to see it as just another match," he added. "Hopefully a few of the injured players will be back to give us a boost.
"We're all pulling in the same direction and hopefully when a few of the senior players are back we can crack on."
